Tall Ships 2011 in Waterford

The 2011 Tall Ships race began from Waterford (30 June -3 July) to Greenock in Scotland in kind weather. Fifty vessels from Square rigged ships to gaff schooners, ketches and yawls entered. Irelands only sail training entry was the 52ft ketch Celtic Mist research vessel of the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group. The River Suir and coast was lined with thousands of spectators and a fleet of small boats followed the Parade of Sail off Dunmore East, County Waterford
